When the weather is warms children should have a named sun hat in school. The best type of hat is either a legionnaire hat or a hat with a wide brim (see pictures below).
The legionnaire hat is available from the school uniform supplier or they are easily found in high street shops.
When it is particularly sunny children should wear sun cream.
For ease, this is best applied at home, in the morning before school with a long lasting sun cream.
If your child needs to apply sun cream during the day, a named bottle should be handed to the class teacher. Please make sure your child knows how and where to apply sun cream if you are sending it in.
The teachers are not able to apply cream to children.
On particularly hot days the children use the shade on the field and don't play on the playground at all at lunchtime.
