Welcome to Malden Manor Primary School

Welcome to Malden Manor, where our aim is to provide an educational experience of the highest quality for all the children in our care. By creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment, we seek to capture pupils’ interest, extend their knowledge and raise their aspirations. Our teaching and learning is designed to bring learning to life, both in the classroom and through a variety of inspiring experiences in the wider community. In line with our objective of being the best we can be, we encourage children to take an active role in their education, developing the skills they need for independent learning. Parental involvement is vital for children to achieve their best so it is encouraged at every stage of learning.

Malden Manor is a vibrant and welcoming community in which we strive for the highest standards of attainment – whether academic, artistic or sporting. We find and nurture hidden talents, celebrating the strengths of every child.

Our expectations in terms of both learning and behaviour are high and the children respond with delightful enthusiasm, politeness and consideration for others. Our broad curriculum and rich programme of extra-curricular activities – including the popular breakfast and after-school clubs – provide a well-rounded education, supported by excellent pastoral care. Together with my team of dedicated staff and governors, I invite you to visit the school to see for yourself the fantastic opportunities it offers your child.

Head's Welcome

Who are the PTA?

All parents/carers of children at Malden Manor Primary School and members of staff are automatically members of the Parent Teacher Association.

The PTA committee is currently made up of:
Chair - Jenny Hutchings
Minutes Secretary - Lucy Hedley-Smith
Co-Treasurers - Arpit Ahuja and Catherine Hutson
The majority of classes also have a PTA Class Representative who provides a link between parents/carers and the PTA.

PTA meetings take place half-termly on a Thursday evening at 7.30pm in the school staffroom. All parents/carers are invited to attend these meetings and we welcome everyone’s ideas and suggestions as we discuss events, fundraising and spending.

Our PTA is organised into different teams which meet separately to plan and organise specific events throughout the year. The timing of these meetings is decided by the members of each team, which allows everyone to balance home/work commitments alongside supporting the PTA.

What do we do?

We support the school by fundraising for additional resources and experiences for our children. Our recent purchases have included eggs to hatch, workshops in a mobile space dome, reading books, toys and games for the playground, musical instruments and music stands and Nursery balancing equipment as well as significant contributions towards the purchase of a climbing frame for the Reception children and an outdoor fitness trail for the older children.

We also bring the school community together through our events each year and give our children and parents/carers an opportunity to socialise together and have fun.

Fundraising Events

The PTA organises a number of fundraising events throughout the year. Our events include:

  • Fireworks Night – a sell-out event last year
  • Spooky Disco – an opportunity to dress up
  • Christmas Disco – a great celebration at the end of term
  • Krispy Kreme Sales – a Friday after-school treat a couple of times a year
  • Quiz Night – for the grown-ups to have some fun!
  • Easter Disco – with an Easter egg raffle
  • Summer Fair - lots of stalls, games, refreshments and fun!
How can you get involved?
Being an active member of the PTA doesn’t have to take up too much of your time. You could take the money at an after-school Krispy Kreme sale, sell refreshments at a disco, give out raffle prize request letters to local shops or help for an hour on a stall at the Summer Fair. We really appreciate all of the help given by parents/carers and could not put on any of our events without this fantastic support.

We would love you to come along to our half-termly PTA meetings and share your ideas or if you’d just prefer to listen you’d be very welcome too.

If your child has a great time at one of our discos or if you love quiz nights or enjoy the community feel of our summer fair, then why don’t you join our Disco Team, Quiz Team or Summer Fair Team? These teams meet at a time convenient to their members and share ideas for organising their event.

Becoming a Class Representative is a great way to meet and chat with other parents/carers as well as supporting the PTA.

Contact us or via the School Office

We have a Facebook page ‘Malden Manor Primary School PTA’ which is a great way of keeping up-to-date with all of our events, purchases and news as we post very regular updates. We also ask for volunteers for events via the Facebook page. It is a closed group, so when you request to join you will need to give your child’s class name and teacher’s name to ensure that you are part of our school community.
