Welcome to Malden Manor Primary School

Welcome to Malden Manor, where our aim is to provide an educational experience of the highest quality for all the children in our care. By creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment, we seek to capture pupils’ interest, extend their knowledge and raise their aspirations. Our teaching and learning is designed to bring learning to life, both in the classroom and through a variety of inspiring experiences in the wider community. In line with our objective of being the best we can be, we encourage children to take an active role in their education, developing the skills they need for independent learning. Parental involvement is vital for children to achieve their best so it is encouraged at every stage of learning.

Malden Manor is a vibrant and welcoming community in which we strive for the highest standards of attainment – whether academic, artistic or sporting. We find and nurture hidden talents, celebrating the strengths of every child.

Our expectations in terms of both learning and behaviour are high and the children respond with delightful enthusiasm, politeness and consideration for others. Our broad curriculum and rich programme of extra-curricular activities – including the popular breakfast and after-school clubs – provide a well-rounded education, supported by excellent pastoral care. Together with my team of dedicated staff and governors, I invite you to visit the school to see for yourself the fantastic opportunities it offers your child.

Head's Welcome

Early Years

Early Years

At Malden Manor Primary School and Nursery, our children are at the centre of all that we do.  We are incredibly proud of our high quality Early Years provision. Our children have the opportunity to lead their own learning, whether it be inside one of our wonderful classrooms or outside in our engaging outdoor areas.

Our children are encouraged and supported to be independent, take on new challenges and explore the world around them. Our highly trained team of teachers and nursery nurses are on hand at all times to further our children’s learning and help them to discover and experience new things.

We offer a full and busy play based curriculum for your children. We plan from the children’s interests, which takes us on many exciting adventures; from pirates to superheroes, to fairies to under the sea…the possibilities are endless!

At Malden Manor Primary and Nursery School, we strongly believe that when children are motivated and engaged their learning experiences have no limits. Therefore, our Early Years ethos was born: ‘Engaged explorers are challenged and achieve.’ This ethos is at the centre of all we do.

We warmly invite you and your child to come and visit our Early Years, and join us to begin your exciting learning journey together!

Old Malden Children Centre

Early Years starts with you as a new parent. Within Old Malden Children Centre (OMCC), there are health experts, such as midwives and health visitors as well as education practitioners and Family Learning to support new parents.

Our Nursery provision builds on your successes as a first educator with places for children that are 2 years old ‘Twinkle Twos’ and universal places for 3/4 year old.

Ofsted say that our Nursery is outstanding because…

• Children's independence and free choice are greatly encouraged because they move liberally between the indoor and outdoor environments.

• Staff provide a highly stimulating and extremely well resourced outdoor area, which covers all areas of learning exceptionally well.

• Planning is comprehensive and based exceptionally well on children's skills and interests.

• Staff make excellent interventions in children's play and they question children very effectively to extend their learning.

• Children settle extremely well because staff carry out home visits and build up strong, warm relationships with children.

Support for our Families

We excel at support for our families. Our nursery offers half day sessions, Breakfast and After School Club and Lunch Club.

Our 30 hours Offer - Glitterbugs

In September 2017, we are delighted to be offering extended hours in line with the new government initiative, to eligible, working households- 30 hours of care.

Malden Manor is a two-form entry school, therefore in Reception there are two classes. We are proud of our highly engaging language rich environments, that develop and extend exciting learning opportunities. We plan learning, based on what inspires our children, therefore maximizing natural curiosity. The success of our entire Early Years team is shown by our upward trend of achievement of a good level of development. We are infinitely proud of our children. They continue their learning journey into Key Stage 1 ready to meet any challenges with a thirst for learning, a resilience to keep on trying and the strength of character to become the best that they can be.
